Hello, my name is Lin and I am a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist and I offer psychotherapy and supervision using Transactional Analysis. This page has information to help you decide if I’m someone that you think might be able to help you.
How I work
Often when people first come to see me they want to feel better. In the first sessions we will focus on how the problem is getting in the way today. Our work will be to help you find ways of dealing with life on a day to day basis more resourcefully. If it is relevant we’ll also look at the past to work out how your history might be part of what is going on today. Each person who comes to see me has a unique set of problems and their own way of reacting to them. Therefore the therapy needs an individual approach. As there are lots of different ways we can work together, one of the things I will do is make creative suggestions about how we might approach your problems. For example, as well as sitting and talking in some cases this might mean using exercises, sharing theory, or using objects or art materials if it seems like it might help.
The Next Step
I offer a free 20 minute telephone assessment as a chance for us both to find out more about each other.
I’ve worked with people who are depressed, anxious and stressed, have experienced abuse, having relationship problems, or difficulties overcoming experiences in their past, difficult feeling, unwelcome memories or obsessive thoughts. I also work with couples and families.
Qualifications and Experience
I have the Certificate in Transactional Analysis (CTA)(P). This is a worldwide qualification conferred by the European Association of Transactional Analysis (EATA). I have a Master of Science in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy and a Post Graduate Diploma in Transactional Analysis Counselling from Middlesex University.
I am also endorsed as a TA supervisor and trainer (PTSTA (P) and I hold a Level V award in Leadership from the Institute of Leadership and Management and an honours degree from Trent Polytechnic.

I have been working in private practice since 2005. I have provided a staff counselling service at a further education college and provided counselling from a GP’s surgery. I have also provided counselling and psychotherapy on a voluntary basis at a charity that supports women who have experienced domestic violence.
I have worked in business for nearly twenty years managing and leading teams and have trained and taught in adult education. I was a Co Director of the TA Training Organisation based in Leeds between 2013 and 2019 which provides training in transactional analysis. Each year I run workshops, supervision and CPD events for therapists on topics I am interested in.
